This Privacy Policy explains how KatDev ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the CalmExam mobile application (bundle identifier: com.katdev.calmexam). CalmExam is an exam anxiety management and performance coaching app designed to help students manage exam-related stress.
By using CalmExam, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
The following data is created and stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

We use a limited number of third-party services to improve app quality and manage subscriptions. These services collect only anonymous or transaction-related data.
We collect anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve features. This data includes events such as screen views and feature usage. It does not include any personally identifiable information.
Crash reports are collected automatically to help us identify and fix bugs. These reports contain technical information about the crash and do not include personal data.
RevenueCat manages in-app subscriptions. Purchase transactions are processed through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and transaction data from Apple; it does not receive your name, email, or Apple ID.
CalmExam uses Anthropic's Claude AI to provide personalized coaching, daily protocols, panic reframing, and post-exam analysis. When you use AI-powered features, the following data is transmitted to Anthropic's servers:
What is NOT transmitted: Your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information. The AI receives only the data listed above to generate personalized responses.
Data retention by Anthropic: Per Anthropic's API terms, input data sent via the API is not used to train AI models and is not retained beyond the processing of your request. For more details, see Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Offline mode: If the AI service is unavailable, CalmExam falls back to pre-written offline content stored locally. No data is transmitted in offline mode.
We use Firebase Remote Config to deliver app configuration settings (such as feature flags and AI model parameters). This service does not collect personal data beyond standard Firebase analytics identifiers.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. Anonymous analytics and crash data are shared only with the third-party service providers listed in Section 3, solely for the purposes described above.
Since your personal data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times.
Your locally stored data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including device passcode, Face ID, and Touch ID. We do not have access to your on-device data. Third-party services employ industry-standard encryption and security practices for any data they process.

CalmExam is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. However, since exam anxiety affects students of all ages, younger users may use the app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because all personal data is stored locally on the device and we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is minimal risk to younger users. Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their children's app usage.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through our third-party services, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you through the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
