Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Nidio mobile app (the “App”) handles information. Nidio is an AI-assisted parenting companion that helps parents and caregivers track and journal their child’s journey from pregnancy through age 6. The App is operated by Tugce Temel (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

In short You don’t create an account. The personal content you enter — baby profile, journal entries and photos, and tracking data — is stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud. It is never sent to or stored on Nidio’s servers, and we cannot read it. We do not sell your data, and there is no advertising or ad tracking in the App.

1. Who We Are & Contact

2. No Traditional Account

Nidio does not require you to sign up with a name, email address, or phone number, and it does not use a password. To make the App work, it relies on:

An anonymous identifier (Firebase Anonymous Authentication) — a randomly generated ID that lets backend features function. It is not tied to your personal identity.
App-integrity attestation (Firebase App Check) — a security check that helps confirm requests come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the App rather than from an abusive or automated source.

3. The Content You Enter Stays Local & in Your Own iCloud

Nidio is local-first. The personal content you create in the App is stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud (Apple CloudKit, tied to your Apple ID’s iCloud account). This includes:

Profile: baby name and birth date (or due date), stage/phase.
Journal: your written entries, notes, mood, and photos.
Tracking data: weight, height, head circumference, feeding, sleep, milestones, vaccines, appointments, and similar logs.

This personal content is not sent to, processed by, or stored on any Nidio server. The private iCloud database is managed entirely by Apple under your Apple ID. We, as the developer, cannot read your private iCloud data. If you have iCloud disabled, this content stays only on your device.

4. AI Features & the AI Data Flow

Nidio includes optional, premium AI features — for example an AI assistant and AI insights. These features only send data when you actively use them. When you do:

The text you submit (your question, plus any context you choose to include) is sent over a secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connection to Nidio’s processing gateway (Firebase Cloud Functions).
The gateway forwards it to Anthropic (the Claude API), which generates a response.
The response is returned to you in the App.

This data is used solely to produce your reply. It is not used to train AI models. Because the text you type is what gets sent, please do not include sensitive personal information (such as full identifying details, financial information, or third parties’ private data) in your AI conversations.

To enforce fair-use limits, a per-user usage counter — keyed only to your anonymous identifier — is stored on the server side. It records how much you have used AI features and is not linked to your personal identity.

5. Subscriptions

Premium features are unlocked through an auto-renewable subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple and your subscription is managed via RevenueCat. Nidio receives your subscription status (for example, whether you have an active subscription) — it does not receive or store your payment card details, which are handled solely by Apple.

6. Analytics & Diagnostics

To understand how the App is used and to fix problems, Nidio may use:

Firebase Analytics (Google): aggregate, non-identifying usage information (such as which features are opened).
Firebase Crashlytics (Google): technical crash diagnostics that help us find and fix bugs.

Your private journal, photos, baby name, and birth date are not sent to these analytics services. We do not use third-party advertising and do not track you across other apps or websites for advertising.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers. The only parties that process data on our behalf are the service providers described below, and only to operate the App. We may disclose information if required by law (for example, in response to a valid legal request).

8. Third-Party Services

Nidio relies on a small set of trusted providers. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:

Apple (iCloud / CloudKit sync, App Store purchases) — apple.com/legal/privacy
Google / Firebase (Anonymous Authentication, App Check, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Anthropic (Claude API, powers AI features) — anthropic.com/legal/privacy
RevenueCat (subscription management) — revenuecat.com/privacy

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Because your personal content lives on your device and in your own iCloud, it stays until you delete it. You can:

Delete individual entries within the App;
Remove the App and clear its iCloud data from your device’s iCloud settings.

The limited server-side data we hold — the anonymous identifier and the AI usage counter — is retained only as long as needed to operate fair-use limits and is not tied to your identity. To request deletion of this server-side data or of analytics/diagnostic data, contact us at support@kurtulusahmet.com.

10. Your Rights & Control

You control your data. You can view, edit, or delete your entries directly in the App at any time, and you can remove all local and iCloud content by deleting the App and clearing its iCloud data. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or KVKK), you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of personal data. 11. Security

Data sent to our processing gateway and to third-party services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). iCloud sync relies on Apple’s security infrastructure, and your personal content remains in your own iCloud rather than on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App.

12. Children’s Privacy

Nidio is intended for use by parents and guardians to record information about their own children. It is not directed to children as users, and we do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Any information about a child is entered by the adult and stays in that adult’s own device and iCloud.

13. International Users

The third-party services Nidio uses (Apple, Google/Firebase, Anthropic, RevenueCat) may process data on servers located in various countries, including the United States. By using the App and its AI features, you understand that the limited data described above may be processed in those locations under the providers’ respective safeguards. Your personal journal, photos, and tracking data remain in your own iCloud.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. The current version is always published at this address.
